"It was time for a short set from Solar, described as “putting the funk into functions”.
The combo had the bonuses of a great sax player and very useful lead female vocalist. The latter was totally unfazed by being hidden away in the venue’s corner as her voice was strong enough to positively boom across the venue. Whatever event they are booked to do can count itself lucky - this act is too good to be dismissed as just another function band.
Finishing off the first evening session was another set from Solar and again their female singer produced all the right notes in the right places, with the band looking like they were thoroughly enjoying themselves throughout their highly polished performance.”
